Short ride report
I went for a short ride today, just Vancouver to Seattle. I haven't
ridden this particular bike very far, so I decided to break the trip
into two section; Vancouver to Centralia, and Centralia to Seattle. It
was a little drizzly when I left the house, but I decided to stick
with no-liners and tough it out.
I got to Mom's (hence the Centralia stop) about 9AM, a little chilled
but not bad. Mom's flowers are blooming already, so I snapped a
picture:

The bike ran flawlessly, and I didn't get as stiff as I was afraid I
would. I cleaned the carbs last week after the bike had sat in the
garage for ~ year. I'd been starting in now and then, and kept it on
the Battery Tender, but forgot to drain the carbs and it got where it
didn't want to run unless the choke was on. I made a stupid mistake
when draining the tank and dropped it off the fender of the car I had
it propped on (actually it jumped when my back was turned) putting a
big dent in the end of the tank. Gah!
After a nice visit with Mom and Papa Art, and a nice Papa Art fixed
breakfast of pancakes, eggs and sausage, I headed north again. It's
been awhile since I've been north of Tacoma, and I was surprised by
how fast traffic was moving. I was doing an indicated seventy-ish in
the SLOW lane and being passed like I was an old fart on a little
bitty bike. Wait, uh...
I got to my destination near Lake Union right on time (one-ish). I
probably looked a little funny trying to read the e-mailed directions
and negotiate Lake Union traffic whilst keeping the rev's up. I missed
having my GPS!

At destination.
And finally, the new owner came down and took possession of his NBA.

I think he's happy!
Lisa bought this bike from jenner, and I'm glad it went to another W/L
family member. I hopped a bus to King Street station and caught the
2:20 south bound train, getting home around 5:30. The train ride was
fun (first time for that in a long time too!) and a relaxing way to
get back home.
Thanks Glenn for being so understanding about the dent and for a all
around nice deal. Oh, and don't forget to move the petcock from
reserve to on when you fill the tank. :-D
